Internationally renowned Canadian author and singer-songwriter Dan Hill will be participating as a panelist and performer at this year’s 3^rd annual Vancouver Island Music Business Conference (VIMBC) in the Comox Valley. The conference will be held June 24^th to June 27^th bringing together music industry producers, promoters, songwriters, performers and publishers from across North America.  These professionals will participate in workshops, social events and performance opportunities.

Dan will be playing on June 26^th at the Sid Williams Theatre at 7:00 p.m. with guests Sue Medley, Ron Irving and Susie McGregor in an acoustic round circle performance. “Planning this year’s conference has been an absolute thrill,” says McGregor, organizer and performer. “Many of our panelists present their expertise at larger music business conferences such as Canadian Music Week or NXNE. Internationally renowned Canadian singer-songwriter and author Dan Hill, along with special guest Liz Rodrigues, is performing at an intimate fundraiser in support of the programs of The Argos Foundation, the charitable arm of the Toronto Argonauts Football Club.  Entitled “Believe in Them: An Evening to Support Youth Empowerment”, Canadian Football Hall of Famer Michael “Pinball” Clemons, Argonauts’ alumnus Chuck Winters and youth guests who have been touched by the work of The Argos Foundation will share their experiences.

Citytv’s Dwight Drummond, who, along with Dan, serves on the board of The Argos Foundation, will emcee the event.  Ticket proceeds benefit the programs of The Argos Foundation. Often regarded as sports heroes and celebrities accessible by local youth, the Argonauts players are committed to giving back to their communities, and serving as positive role models through programs including the award-winning, in-school Huddle Up Bullying Prevention Program, the Youth Mentorship Program for youth in custody and the Level the Playing Field program which strengthens and builds football programs in TDSB schools.
